Why KAHC was chosen for the OMMP Project

The One Million Meals Peterborough (OMMP) project was initiated as an effort to engage the people of Peterborough to make a difference in the lives of others. An effective way of attaining this was to team up with the charity, Kids Against Hunger Canada (KAHC) in a joint effort to unite people to do something unique and effective for the less fortunate in life – namely to provide a viable solution to the critical need of hunger & starvation. The KAHC charity is perfectly suited for the project because it is based out of Peterborough and it provides a high impact solution that is both proven and effective.

About KAHC

Kids Against Hunger Canada (KAHC) is a humanitarian food-aid organization which focuses on feeding children in need, both here in Canada and around the world. KAHC is a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency – number 807042015RR0001. Its head office is located in Peterborough Ontario.

The organization’s approach to achieving its goal – the eradication of world hunger – includes the packaging of a highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified soy-rice casserole by volunteers at numerous locations within Canada, and then arranging for the distribution of those meals to starving children and their families through partnerships with other registered Canadian charities.
