ABOUT OMMP — What We Do & Why It Matters
Each April, our city takes on an extraordinary challenge: to package 60,000+ highly nutritious meals for people struggling with hunger — internationally and in our own neighbourhoods.
This hands‑on, high‑energy event is the heart of One Million Meals Peterborough (OMMP).
Our long‑standing mission is simple and powerful: to engage the people of Peterborough in making a real difference in the lives of others.
Using the Kids Against Hunger Canada food‑packaging model, volunteers from every corner of our community come together — social groups, faith communities, sports teams, schools, businesses, and municipal partners — forming teams that compete in a friendly 90‑minute race to assemble as many meals as possible..
It’s fast. It’s fun. It’s meaningful. And it changes lives.
